9 CONSEJOS + 1 PARA… ¡ESTUDIAR INGLÉS!  

1. Sé paciente contigo mismo. Ten en cuenta que aprender inglés es un proceso gradual y no va a suceder de la noche a la mañana.

2. Haz de aprender un hábito. Trata de aprender algo cada día. Es mucho más fácil y efectivo estudiar inglés un poco cada día que varias horas una sola vez a la semana. Es un poco como el deporte: si haces un poco de deporte todos los días tu salud mejora gradualmente, pero si solo haces mucho ejercicio un día a la semana, los resultados no son los mismos.

3. Varía tu rutina de aprendizaje. Sin perder de vista tus objetivos, combina tus actividades de estudio. Por ejemplo, no solo estudies gramática, practica también otros aspectos del idioma. Verás que tu aprendizaje será más sólido e interesante.

4. Si tienes amigos que están aprendiendo inglés, practica con ellos. Estudiar inglés de esta manera puede ser gratificante y divertido. Si tienes la oportunidad de hacer amigos que hablen inglés como su idioma natal, aprovéchala. Trata de interactuar con gente que solo habla en inglés. Cuando estés en un ambiente donde solo se habla inglés, trata de expresarte en el mismo idioma y evita pedir que te traduzcan o que te ayuden en español. Esto puede resultar todo un reto, pero es muy efectivo cuando de aprender se trata.

5. Practica tu inglés con material de lectura y audio que sea de tu interés. Es mucho más fácil, divertido y efectivo practicar con temas que nos gustan. Si te gustan las motocicletas, consigue revistas y libros acerca del tema; si te interesan los animales en extinción, visita páginas en Internet de organizaciones como IFAW o WWF. Lo mejor es empezar con material de lectura que no use un lenguaje muy complicado y después tratar con inglés más avanzado. Después trata con películas en inglés, programas de televisión o de radio, podcasts, etc. Esta práctica también te ayudará a familiarizarte con modismos y expresiones populares que se usan en inglés. 6. Escuchar música también puede ser una manera muy efectiva de aprender inglés. Lo ideal es conseguir las letras de las canciones que te gustan y seguirlas mientras las escuchas. De esta manera practicas tus habilidades de lectura y comprensión auditiva al mismo tiempo. Si te gusta cantar, ¡Que mejor!   http://www.lyricstraining.com/

7. Trata de relacionar la gramática que estás aprendiendo a situaciones prácticas. La gramática por si sola no te ayuda a hablar el idioma, además de que puede ser bastante tediosa. Siempre busca la manera de llevar a la práctica lo que estás aprendiendo.

8.  Ten en cuenta que entender un concepto del idioma inglés, no necesariamente significa que podrás reproducir los sonidos correspondientes. Practica en voz alta. Aunque te suene extraño, esta es una manera muy efectiva de reforzar lo que estás aprendiendo. Si tienes manera de grabar tu voz, hazlo. Después escúchate. Esto no solo te ayudará a reforzar conceptos, si no que contribuirá a mejorar tu pronunciación.

9. Habla sin miedo. En muchos casos el problema más grande que enfrentan las personas que aprenden un nuevo idioma es su miedo. Se preocupan de parecer tontos o de hablar torpemente. Por favor no caigas en este error. La mejor y más rápida manera de aprender cualquier cosa es haciéndola. Lo mismo sucede con los idiomas. Aprender un idioma requiere práctica, no dejes que el miedo te impida alcanzar tus metas. Además, en la gran mayoría de los casos, tus interlocutores entenderán que estás aprendiendo inglés y no le darán importancia a los errores que pudieras cometer.

+ 1. Si crees que todo esto no es suficiente para preparar tus exámenes. Lee esta pequeña ayuda!

Ö         Los exámenes de inglés son siempre prácticos, por lo tanto, si  haces por ti mismo todos los ejercicios de clase y todos los deberes,  tendrás la agilidad suficiente para enfrentarte al examen con seguridad.

Ö         Lee, selecciona, anota el vocabulario desconocido, búscale sinónimos, antónimos, etc.  Con el tiempo, usarás esa palabra (y no otras) de manera intuitiva.

Ö         Y por último: Enfréntate al examen con espíritu deportivo (satisfacción de poner en práctica todo lo que has mejorado con tu entrenamiento).

§         Escucha las indicaciones que da el profesor cuando entrega el examen.

§         Contesta las preguntas en el orden que mejor te convenga: vocabulario, gramática práctica, juegos con las palabras, …

§         Haz el examen en dos tandas: primero contesta eso que estás seguro, que no te ofrece dudas; después céntrate en lo que más te cuesta.

§         Responde intuitivamente y si no encuentras una palabra que tienes en la punta de la lengua anota su significado en español con un lápiz en el hueco correspondiente y vuelve a ella cuando repases.

§         Repasa, ¡por supuesto! Guárdate un par de minutos para repasar tu examen.
